About The Author
Michael Wilson
About The Author Michael Wilson is a multi-talented artist, writer, and educator with a diverse background spanning the visual and literary arts. Born just outside Washington, D.C., to parents who served in the CIA and FBI, Michael took a different path, choosing to follow his passion for creativity over the security of a government career.
He pursued formal education in the arts, studying painting at Carnegie Mellon University and furthering his expertise in writing and psychology at the University of Virginia. His journey in the creative industry began with film reviews on MTV, which led to an expansive career in visual storytelling, media, and education.
Michael Wilson has directed a news program and went on to write, direct, and produce Hands and Tales, a groundbreaking television series designed for both hearing and hearing-impaired children. His commitment to the arts extends beyond personal work—he serves as the Lead Teaching Artist for A Reason To Survive (ARTS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering at-risk youth through creative expression. Through this initiative, he has worked with homeless children, youth in the juvenile justice system, and students with Down syndrome, helping them discover their own artistic voices.
